A trip to the cities that make up Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia offers many exciting activities. The Sights of the Georgia Renaissance Festival
From castles and arenas, stages to stoops, there are many hubs of activity. Here are some that should not be missed:
- The Halfwit Harbour Stage: For shows like the Tortuga Twins who give classic fairy tales a new twist to the comedy of Hack and Slash, ventriloquist acts like the Ded Bob Sho and an assortment of musicians, be sure to plan to attend the delightful variety acts seen here.
- The Joust: Perhaps one of the most highly attended events of the day, guests are enthralled by the skills and talents of the horsemen. See the knights as they test their skills at jousting, riding the gauntlet, throw lances and spears and win the king and queen’s favor by being victorious in the pursuits of justice.
- Birds of Prey and the Parrots of the Caribbean: These programs teach guests about the habits of birds. The Birds of Prey show focuses on owls, ospreys, falcons and condors while the Parrots of the Caribbean delight their guest by showing off the skills of tropical birdlife.
Renaissance Activities Especially for the Children
A day at the RenFest isn’t just for the older children and adults in one’s family. There are several activities sure to delight the youngsters as well. Some of these activities and attractions include:
- the Highlands area where guest can play games, try an assortment of rides, test their strength and wander the maze;
- the Queen’s Garden where rock climbing and archery are a must; and
- the Old Towne area’s Barrel O’ Bedlam ride.
